Overnight oats - energy in a jar
This breakfast is a powerhouse full of valuable nutrients, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, it is an energy booster and will keep you full for a long time. You can be really creative with this recipe. It will taste great no matter what fruit you decide to put in, whatever nuts or seeds you prefer, almond, soy or hemp milk, whatever you crave or find in your kitchen. You can make this recipe gluten-free as well by choosing gluten-free oats instead of the regular ones.
1/4 - 1/2 cup oats
1 tablespoon chia seeds
handful of nuts (almonds, walnuts and pecans)
2-3 slices of peeled and cut apple
handful of blueberries or any other berries of your choice for the topping
1 cup of almond milk
1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Put all your ingredients in a jar, close it, shake it and leave it overnight in a fridge. In the morning, your breakfast is ready! You can eat it cold straight from the jar or warm if you prefer. Top it with fresh fruit, nuts or anything you desire. It also tastes great if you add some peanut butter or almond butter.
